Mystic Stars Award Criteria

Here is a list of criteria to ensure your web site runs efficiently and can be a candidate for a Mystic Stars award.



Your site:

Cannot contain viruses, worms, bandwidth stealing, foul language, violence, pornography, child/animal abuse, racism, hateful content or have links to such content.

Has a copyright statement.

Contains a privacy statement - if it asks for personal information.

Has a way to contact you on all your pages.

Has a separate section to display awards you won with a clear link from the index page.

Has no need to download anything to view your site and the entire site is accessible without passwords or other restrictions.
The navigation system is consistent throughout the site. It should be possible to get to every main page of the site with 2 or less clicks from the home page.

Has a "Skip Flash" option on your introduction page if you use flash.

Has a visible means of turning off any music.

All the written text is easy to read, and is easy on the eyes.

All your scripts and applets work correctly.

Has no broken images, animated mouse trails and the right mouse click is enabled.

All internal links are working, and at least 95% of your external links are working correctly.

A good website is constantly under construction so there is no need for "under construction" statements ("coming soon" is acceptable for blank pages where content is planned to appear in the near future as long as a description of what is coming is present).

Must be written in English. The only language I know is English, I apologize to all other languages, but if I cannot read what is on your Web Site, then I cannot fairly evaluate it.

I check the index page of web sites with net-mechanic. I have found it to be a very useful tool.

Automatic disqualification for crashing or freezing my system.
